1. Scope & Who We Are

This Privacy Policy ("Policy") explains how Recycled Base Materials, Inc. ("Recycled Base Materials," "RBM," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal information when you visit recycledbase.com (the "Site") or otherwise interact with us. It also describes the rights of California residents under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (collectively, the "CCPA/CPRA"), and our disclosures under the California Online Privacy Protection Act ("CalOPPA") and the California Invasion of Privacy Act ("CIPA").

This Policy applies to information we collect through the Site. It does not apply to third-party websites or services we do not control.

Specifically, depending on how you use the Site, we collect:

  • Contact form submissions: your name, email address, telephone number (optional), the service you are interested in (optional), and your message. We also record the IP address and timestamp of the submission for security and recordkeeping.
  • Testimonial submissions: your name, company, job position (optional), email address, star rating, and testimonial text. If approved by us, your name, company, position, rating, and testimonial text will be published publicly on the Site. Your email address is not published.
  • Automatically collected data: standard web-server log information, and a functional session cookie used for form rate-limiting and (for authorized administrators) login.
Please do not submit sensitive personal information (such as Social Security numbers, payment card numbers, or health information) through our forms. They are intended for business inquiries and testimonials only.

3. Sources of Information

  • Directly from you when you complete a form, send us an email, or call us.
  • Automatically from your device and browser when you visit the Site (e.g., IP address and server logs).
  • From our service providers who host the Site and deliver email on our behalf.

4. How We Use Information

We use personal information for the following business and commercial purposes:

  • To respond to your inquiries and provide quotes, information, and customer service;
  • To review, moderate, approve, and publish testimonials you submit;
  • To operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Site;
  • To prevent spam, fraud, and abuse (e.g., rate-limiting and honeypot checks on forms);
  • To keep business records and communications;
  • To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Use.

5. How We Disclose Information

We may disclose personal information to the following categories of recipients:

  • Service providers / contractors that perform services for us, including our web hosting provider (Hostinger), email delivery, a content-delivery network that serves icon fonts (Cloudflare-hosted Font Awesome), and Cloudflare Turnstile for contact-form bot protection. These providers receive only the information necessary to perform their services, including your IP address when your browser loads those resources or submits the form.
  • Affiliates, including Security Paving Company, Inc., for the purpose of responding to your inquiries.
  • Legal and safety recipients, such as law enforcement, regulators, or courts, when we believe disclosure is required by law or necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others.
  • Successors in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets.

Published testimonials are visible to anyone who visits the Site.

6. No Sale or Sharing of Personal Information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, as those terms are defined under the CCPA/CPRA. We do not use third-party advertising cookies, advertising pixels, or analytics that track you across other websites. Because we do not sell or share personal information, we do not offer a "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" link; however, you may still contact us with any privacy request as described below. We have not sold or shared personal information in the preceding 12 months. We also do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16 years of age.

7. Cookies & Tracking Technologies (CIPA Disclosure)

We use a minimal set of cookies and similar technologies:

  • Strictly necessary / functional cookies: a PHP session cookie used to rate-limit form submissions (to deter spam) and to authenticate administrators. This cookie is required for the Site to function and does not track you across other websites.
  • Third-party resource requests: when your browser loads styling and icon libraries from content-delivery networks (Cloudflare-hosted Font Awesome), those providers necessarily receive your IP address and basic request data to deliver the files. We do not use these for advertising or cross-site tracking.
  • Bot protection (Cloudflare Turnstile): our contact form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to tell real visitors apart from automated spam bots. When you use the form, Cloudflare receives limited technical information (including your IP address and browser signals) to perform this check. Turnstile is a privacy-focused CAPTCHA alternative that does not use this data for advertising or cross-site tracking; see Cloudflare's privacy policy for details.

We do not use Google Analytics or similar analytics tools, advertising or social-media tracking pixels, "session replay" or keystroke-logging technologies, or chat widgets that record your communications. We do not permit third parties to intercept the contents of your communications with the Site. To the extent the California Invasion of Privacy Act applies, your continued use of the Site constitutes consent to the limited, functional technologies described above. If we add analytics or other tracking technologies in the future, we will update this Policy and, where required, obtain your consent.

8. Do Not Track

Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" ("DNT") setting. There is no industry-standard for how to respond to DNT signals. Because we do not track you across third-party websites, we do not currently respond differently to DNT signals. This disclosure is provided in accordance with CalOPPA.

9. Your California Privacy Rights (CCPA/CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you have the following rights, subject to certain exceptions:

  • Right to Know / Access: to request the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, the sources, the purposes for collecting it, and the categories of third parties to whom we disclose it.
  • Right to Delete: to request that we delete personal information we collected from you, subject to legal exceptions.
  • Right to Correct: to request that we correct inaccurate personal information we maintain about you.
  • Right to Opt Out of Sale/Sharing: we do not sell or share personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of; this right is preserved if our practices ever change.
  • Right to Limit Use of Sensitive Personal Information: we do not collect or use sensitive personal information for purposes that would trigger this right.
  • Right to Non-Discrimination: we will not discriminate or retaliate against you for exercising any of your privacy rights.
  • Right to Use an Authorized Agent: you may designate an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf, subject to verification.

10. How to Exercise Your Rights

You may submit a request to know, delete, or correct by contacting us:

  • Email: info@recycledbase.com (please include "Privacy Request" in the subject line)
  • Phone: (818) 612-7511
  • Mail: Recycled Base Materials, Inc., Attn: Privacy, 3075 Townsgate Rd. Suite 200, Westlake Village, CA 91361

Verification: To protect your information, we will take reasonable steps to verify your identity before fulfilling a request, typically by matching information you provide against information we already hold. We cannot fulfill a request if we cannot verify your identity. Authorized agents must provide proof of authorization and we may require you to verify your own identity directly with us.

We will respond to verifiable consumer requests consistent with the timelines required by the CCPA/CPRA (generally within 45 days, with the possibility of a 45-day extension where reasonably necessary). There is no fee to make a request unless it is excessive, repetitive, or manifestly unfounded.

11. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Policy, including to respond to inquiries, maintain business records, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Contact and testimonial records and related server/email logs are retained for our ordinary business recordkeeping period and then deleted or de-identified. Approved testimonials remain published until we or you request their removal.

12. Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards designed to protect personal information. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

13. Minors

The Site is intended for a business audience and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

14. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last Updated" date above and post the updated Policy on this page. Material changes will be made conspicuous on the Site. Your continued use of the Site after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
